After a tumultuous situation with a disorganized and incompetent architect-who has a reputation for being at the top of his field-, we turned to Chantal at Total Design Source. She was able to straighten out our drawings and get us prepared for a zoning hearing that was to happen in a matter of days. Without her organization and attention I feel that our chances of getting approved would have been slim to none.
Once zoning was approved, Chantal worked with us to refine our drawings, create construction drawings and to lay out our kitchen. Chantal has a tremendous strength in taking an existing space and configuring it to be functional, attractive and efficient in terms of space utilization. She is a very organized and conscientious. We never had to track her down, she was constantly contacting us and making sure that we were making the decisions needed to move the project forward.
Chantal also has great input on every facet of a job, all the
way from initial design to final decorative details. She has
a great wealth of resources at her fingertips and shares them
with clients so that clients can find things on their own, should
they so choose.
Due to the success of our home project, I went on to use Chantal
with a commercial project. As with our home, Chantal was efficient,
organized and kept to our timeline. i recommend her services
highly.
Perhaps the best thing we did after moving into our old house in Mystic was to contact Chantal at Total Design Source. Our first floor needed to be redesigned to fit our lifestyle, but we weren't sure where to start. Chantal's thoughtful Master Plan met our schedule and budgeting needs. With just the first phase of the project complete, we already feel like we're in a new home! We also appreciate Chantal's friendly, easy-going style and look forward to working with her in the future

You have made our house a home. Not a day goes by that I don't
look at our Great Room and feel a real warmth and comfort in
the colors, fabrics, design and decorations. You have not only
designed our space, you have taught me to see color and home
design in a completely new way. There is not a person that comes
to our home that enters the foyer and sees the Great Room that
doesn't say some version of "Oh my, this is really beautiful....you
have a wonderful home."
When we say "Thank You" it is a DISTINCT thank you...nothing
casual about it....The Thank You is for caring, seeing, teaching
...for being so very talented at what you do.

feel very fortunate to have worked with Chantal Lawrence in
decorating my house. She is very knowledgeable in design and
has a special gift with color. One of the qualities that I value
most about her is her respectful listening to my ideas and desires;
I never felt that she was pushing me to expand a project beyond
what I originally wanted, either in scope or in budget. Even
if I was "out in left field", she never made me feel that my
idea was not worthwhile; she simply offered me options and never
pressured me to choose one that was "right". She was always
very flexible about scheduling meetings and installations. I
was able to recommend Chantal to several friends who subsequently
employed her and were very happy with her recommendations and
