MISSION STATEMENT:
To listen, communicate and partner with clients to create successful, productive, long term relationships based on good design and a balance between man and nature.
DESIGN THEORY:
Good design requires a clear understanding of the clients' goals, needs, objectives, budget and vision working in concert with creativity, strong project management and research and development.
WHAT TDS CAN BRING TO YOUR PROJECT:
Working with Architectural and Engineering firms, small design offices and several years as a Sales Representative for Steelcase, the worlds largest furniture manufacturer, has provided the founder of Total Design Source, Chantal Lawrence, with a broad understanding of the Interior Design profession. Though she excels at the creative side of design, Chantal realizes that communication, budget, space planning, furniture specifying and interior finish selection are vital aspects of a successful project. Her exposure to a variety of client types, government, corporate, education, healthcare and residential, enables her to draw from a vast amount of knowledge.
SUMMERY OF EXPERIENCE:
Total Design Source has been in business since May 2000. Chantal Lawrence established the company for two reasons. Firstly, she saw a void in the design arena for "competent Interior Design Consultants". She wanted to offer Architectural Firms the option of consulting with a licensed Designer when an in-house project needed support instead of going without or trying to justify a-full time hire. Because of her years of designing corporate spaces she is able to support almost any aspect of design from lighting, space planning, furniture specification, color selection, to custom millwork design and developing construction documents. Technology enables files to be emailed between Total Design Sources office and the in-house design team. It has proved to be a very resourceful way to support the client.
Secondly, Total Design Source wanted to develop a residential client base for both architectural and interior design. Having supported residential freelance projects for years, Total Design Source felt is was time to focus on clients with a range of budgets. All too often Chantal was approached by frustrated clients who didn't have "big bucks" to put into their home. One of the founding concepts for Total Design Source was to make design available to all budgets, big and small. By working with the client on setting long-term goals, Chantal is able to phase projects so the client has an opportunity to save monies, span the project over a reasonable time frame and ultimately bring their dreams to fruition. And then September 11th occurred and reminded our country of the importance of family and friends. This reinforced the Total Design Source concept that everyone deserves a wonderful and safe place they can call home. Since 2000 Total Design Source has had the honor of designing five new homes, many home additions and renovations, several garages and barns and a myriad of beautiful interiors.
