CLICK TO ENLARGE Architectural Additions and Renovations: Addition / Renovation Project 3 The owners of this Cape Cod home were looking to create a Master Bedroom Suite and child's bedroom. The obvious are to expand was the attic space above the garage, never used by the owners. By removing the roof and ceiling joists and extending the height of the garage walls, Total Design Source was able to align the existing and new second floor joists. A new gable roof was built and two shed dormers were added to increase the usable square footage. The dormer in the front is modest with small awning windows, keeping in proportion with the rest of the facade. The rear dormer spans the majority of the garage and allows for larger windows. The new space above the garage accommodates the Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom. The original location of the Master Bedroom has been turned into a Master Closet, a child's bedroom and common homework area. All in all, a practical design that utilized valuable real estate.

CLICK TO ENLARGE ArchitecturalAdditions and Renovations: Addition / Renovation Project 4 Total Design Source was hired by this retired couple to increase the size of their second floor Master Bedroom. They were looking to add a sitting area and a dressing area. The existing windows from the Master Bedroom looked out onto the Connecticut River, they wanted to increase their vista with more windows. Total Design Source extended the bedroom over the kitchen and family room. This allowed for a sitting area with 180 degree views of the river. The dressing area was positioned toward the rear of the addition where windows were not as important. A new skylight was added in the dressing area and hard wood floors were extended throughout. If you were not familiar with the house before, you would never know they renovated.
